EPHS Girls Varsity Soccer Why So Many?

No varsity team should have less than 18 on the roster, preferably 19-22, with some of those playing JV on most nights.
But that's just me & my experience when I coached high school soccer.
The school budget is open for inspection. Call 'em & request a gander.

I know you didn't mean to imply that. (Just throwing that out there 'cause many folks -do- misread or assign motive for the least little thing.
Any who . . .
Don't know anything about playing time so I can't say anything about that.
I saw in another thread that EPHS Lady Raiders beat Sequoyah. That's a huge win. Congrats.

As far as Coach Cartee fluffing his roster just to get more money, I think you're WAY off base there.

As far Coach playing the same set of girls with a score of 10-0, if there is a tie in the region, the tie-breaker is determined by goals scored. (This is the way I understand it per GHSA.)
Coach cares about his players. He only wants to see them succeed on the pitch. While I understand your frustration with your child not seeing enough playing time, Coach has to look at the big picture. There's a reason for everything he does.
If you don't like the way he's coaching, then ask him face-to-face. Don't question his motives on a message board like this.

Because someone came on here with an agenda and got called out. The best players play if you dont like it then go talk to the coach about it, you dont come on a message board and start crap. Coach Cartee is a very good man, for this poster to question the money spending is ridiculous, soccer makes absolutely no money for the programs or schools, therefore they have to raise money or donate.

That's a riot that the original post was deleted! It definitely read like an agenda. My son plays soccer in another county on a high school varsity team. They dress out a bunch of kids and the bench is very deep. It's a young school/program and the coach is trying to build depth for years to come. For someone to come on here and slam EPHS's coach for doing what sounds like the same thing is ridiculous! Soccer doesn't have deep pockets - they have to fundraise at every school just like all sports do. The money isn't for playing time like in rec soccer or league soccer. This is high school - the best play based on the opponent a team is facing. It's time to grow up for some people. Good luck to EPHS girls! And good luck to the Varsity boys as they face Alexander tonight.

Millions? For the amount I was paid, it came out to like 25 cents an hour. Coaching (other than football) means little, if any money. It is for the love of the game & the kids.
Of course, this thread has made me think. Anyone notice how terrible the EPHS soccer field looks this year? No grass. None. It is a dirt field. Lots of sand. Awful condition & dangerous for soccer players. Never has it looked this bad.
If you've got an pull with the county at all, tell 'em those soccer coaches need some respect from the Central Office, school admin, & especially the football coaches at some schools.

It looks bad that the team in 1st place (Yeah!) in the area has to play on such a bad
field.
(Alexander beat Chapel Hill last night so we are 1st in 5AAAA)
Please, please, East Paulding Boys beat Alexander tonight! It will give Alexander 3 region losses and put my boy's team as #1 over Cherokee. I've promised to wear Pirates shirts for the week if they pull it off. Alexander is tough though! They play a Brazilian Box style set up with 5 mid-fielders. #10, one of their strikers is amazing - fast and accurate. Watch out for him! Their #8 is good too. Go get em EPHS!

I remember one time when my daughter’s club team made it to the championships at some out of state tournament. The girls were all dressed in their clean, bright red and white Adidas uniforms looking good. That day they could do no wrong! Along comes the opposing team from Tennessee, faded out tee shirts, I don’t even think their shorts matched. They looked like tiny little kids compared to ours. Well, they kick our butts and went home with the trophy. All the parents shook hands, congratulated the other side, and challenged each other to a rematch. From that day on I realized that it’s not the uniforms or the field you play on, it’s what you bring to the game.

PCHS's field is not in quite as bad of shape as TBAR described East's field, but it is missing quite a bit of grass. Playing when wet like we had to do early in the season, really messed it up.
Just had to mention that PCHS (4-0-0) is in first place also in 4AAAAA. Weather permitting, they play the 2nd place team (East Coweta 4-1-0) tomorrow night. It will be a tough game.
