how many games did they win each year?

We'll see what a 2-8 season does to school spirit.

By the way EPHS has never been AAAAA so there is no way you can know how our boys will rise to this challenge

I remember being told that the year PCHS went quad A and had to play North and South Cobb as well as McCechern that we'd have to settle for a re-building season...We ended up with the schools best record (7-3) and completely shocked most of the Cobb teams.

I'm sorry, did I miss something? Who is North Cobb facing in this round of the playoffs? Oh that's right - NO ONE! They lost in the 1st round. What about McEachern or most of the other schools in the suspected region? Sitting at home. I think we'll be just fine. But thanks for thinking of us!

Don't forget that this is only a PROJECTED region alignment. Frankly, I believe that EP will be in Hiram's old region. Why have one region that has 12 teams and then another with only 6. Even if we are in the PROJECTED region, we will do well. We won't dominate, but will do well. We will certainly make the playoffs next year.

I am sick and tried of sore losers in Paulding Co, If North, South, Paulding or Hiram, is where East is, I would be so happy for those school, Yes I would like my school to do as well, but you have to work and build your our program, why is it that we are doing good and others hate it. One question, if other sports are doing good does everyone down them or is it just football. Come on Paulding be happy one of our schools is doing so well this year. Please remember these are kids, The Band, Cheerleaders, Dance Team and Football players are getting to have the time of their lifes right now, let them have it.

The difference between 4A and 5A ball is like the difference between major and minor league. EPHS is at the top of its class so its time to move up.

You will be in the big dog pen down south this weekend. good luck.

I wish EPHS all the best in their new Region. Do I believe they can rise to the occasion... sure, if they keep Coach Reid.

You may want to verify the never been AAAAA because I believe they jumped us up in 1998 or 1999. And I beleive the jump was from 3A right into 5A if I am not mistaken. We played Harrison High, McEachern, North Cobb, Dalton and some of the others on the list. We only had something like 1100 students at the time too. Rumor was that we were hurting for money and they figured the Cobb teams would travel to EP and we would get a better gate profit. That is about the time they started the all sport booster club so the money would be spread around a little bit.

I will be happy to put $50 that says EP will NOT be 10-0 this time next season.

According to the GHSA website there was no AAAAA until 2000 the highest we could have possibly been was AAAA which is what we are now.

I wouldn't think we would be 10-0 in 5A play either. But I will bet you that we will make the playoffs. What do you say to that?

I bet NSWR won't be 10-0 either next year.
Last years state champs Roswell had two losses this year, and they are in the third round. Being 10-0 is great, but simply has no bearing come playoff time.

I think we will do very well in the regular season next year. But, in the deep playoff rounds we might have some trouble with the top tier 5A teams such as Lowndes, Brookwood , North Gwinnett etc, etc.

But hey, our coaches will coach the boys up. Who knows what can happen.

I don't understand why everybody in the county can't just be happy that one of the high school teams that represents this county is doing so well. Why does everybody always got to say negative things, these are kids people they are experiencing memories right now that will last them a life time. Wouldn't it be great for them to remember that the whole community was behind them and pulling for them instead of everyone saying they shouldn't be there. I would be just as glad if Paulding Co. Hiram, South Paulding or North Paulding was in the same boat because it is a great thing that these boys have accomplished for the past 2years so let's all just say GO RAIDERS and be happy for the boys. I know I seen alot of students from several other schools from our county and Cobb County at the game last Friday sitting on our side cheering the Raiders on maybe us adults could learn something about sportsmanship from them. Cheer for your local team and support them.

methyl1, how about making the playoffs with a winning record for $50?

After seeing Paulding HS make the playoffs with a 3-7 record, having "token" teams in the playoffs really means nothing.

kristyk, no one is saying anything against the accomplishments of the EP team over the last two years. I agree that the each member will take something positive with them that they will be able to draw on through out life. The point is that next year, things will change - there will not be a 10-0 season - $50 says so.

It will interesting as the talent pool is shared with north paulding how well they wiil recover. just as PC has split off every time a new school opened. Hiram, EP then South each took talent from the PC pool.. growth does add to the pool but there are team association that link some of these kids since T-ball days. It will take very good coaching to over come this type of splits. Pc has been suffering from talent drain to the new schols for some time now Ep will feel the drain right when they move up stream.

Ok, EP moving up to 5A. If they are put into the region that PC, and Hiram was in this year, EP will go undefeated, that region was terrible. If they are put into the Region with the cobb and woodstock schools, EP will be competitive, and they got a shot at goin undefeated, but it will be tough. I say that EP still makes the playoffs, it will just be tougher, because there will be two sub regions that region, which means each sub region will send the top two teams to the playoffs, giving that Region 4 teams. Now as far as EP being in 5A they never were, however when EP moved up from 3A to 4A in 98 they were moved into the Cobb Region, yea, EP wasn't too competitive through the Football Program, but other sports at EP did pretty good. I'm hoping EP is put into the Cobb Region, it will be much easier on the fans as Travel wise goes. Now as far as Coach Reid staying The powers to be at EP need to try and meet his demands. Back in 97 EP had a dang good ball coach in Jesse Simpson, who is now the Head Coach at Buford. Coach Simpson took a coordinator job at Buford, because he was goin to be making about the same amount as money goes, plus the facilities are much better there. So to keep Coach Reid and the coaching staff around, we got to find ways to better our Facilities, I know there are plans for a New Field House, I don't know when the Construction on it is suppose to begin, but hopefully soon. Also, I think our stadium needs upgrading, we need more seats cause we can't keep getting buy hosting home playoff games with what we got. But anyways, why worry about next year, lets keep talking about this year, EP travels to Thomasville Georgia, I'm hoping that some of you high school football fans from Paulding will show up and lend us your support.

GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!

Hey what about Buford? AA and probably the state's best team! Size is important, but that isnt the only factor. I am a homer. Went to PC, teach at Hiram, and have a son at East. I root for all of our teams.
GO RAIDERS!!! See you in TC, and then hopefully the dome!

ep may not go undefeated--but they will only loose one game,be a second seed in the playoffs and go at least to the 3rd round.why do i say that?cause the talent is better at east then it is at most of these schools.if the coaches leave, then we probably won't do as well.
pc needs coaches.you can whine about talent pool all you want.but its the coaching--the talent is there.
as far as support---if you can't get behind a team from paulding county as they make their second straight run for the dome----then get off your a## and move somewhere else.the entire community benefits when a county school goes to the playoffs and host games.ridgeland ate,got fuel after the game.some even stayed in town and drove home the next day.mays did the same thing---their bus was still in hiram saturday morning.
so to all the buttheads and idiots that want to knock on or put down the east paulding football team---we can't help but play with the hand we were dealt.AND please remember---if they never win another game, they have done what no other school has been able to do.if you could beat us,you probably wouldn't even run that mouth anyway.now crawl back under your trailor and shut up!!!!

i don't need $50.i would much rather spend that on the kids, not on some loser troll that stays on here enough to have 9000+ posts.you think that offering to bet makes you a man???it just makes you another sorry loser troll that has more time to waste then anything else.you supposedly live in paulding(?) but yet you want to put down a group of young men that are enjoying the times of their lives right now.why can't you be a real adult and support your local schools??or are you just so jealous of their success that you're a bitter old fart???either way--get a life!!!!

I said "I may be wrong". smile.gif What must have gone from 3A to 4A. EP had somewhere in the neighborhood of 1100 students at the time so we didn't have to move up. I believe it was 1998 and 1999 football seasons. All I know is that we jumped up into the Cobb Region and we weren't ready and it was not in the best interest of our kids at the time and it was strictly for money. I was there and I watched what went on.

With Reid at the helm, I believe that EP can run with the big dogs!
